Grieving Spirit Animals
Without a plan
the horse was near
he meant to support
the mouse with a deer.
The dragonfly emerged
from his watery instar
with nerves alight
and the horse was not far.
With a reverent gaze
the horse did stare
the dragonfly wept
as he battled the glare.
He saw the horse
and touched him, too
the horse was in awe
as one became two.
